Ice Out-Early Spring
As the Lake thaws the Reef Complex becomes loaded with walleyes getting ready for the spawn, vertical jigging the shallow areas of The Reefs can be fast and furious. Trolling can produce very large fish as well early in the spring. Perch fishing is generally excellent this time of year as well.
Spring-Summer
As the water warms the bite off of Vermilion to Cleveland becomes the main focus of the summer walleyeing. The deeper water of Cleveland produces quantity as well as quality fish. In July the steelhead fishing starts to take off. Trips of many walleye and steelhead combined are very common. The perch bite starts to pick up and gets better as summer progresses.
Fall-Early Winter
Perch, Walleye and Steelhead fishing in the Cleveland area is generally in full swing by now. Trophy fish of each species are very common in the fall months. Its not uncommon to see coolers with perch catches of 10-13 inches and bonus fish of 14 inches or more do show up. Walleyes are getting their winter feed going and BIG fish move in.
Night Fishing
Spring and Fall-Winter night fishing trips for walleyes something that the true fisherman must experience.
So where do we fish???? Cleveland is the preferred port but we will follow the fish!!!!!!!!!
